A native of Colombia, South America, Diana began her medical career after receiving an associate’s degree in nursing from Baton Rouge Community College, first serving as a surgery nurse at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, La. She then worked as a hemodialysis nurse for DaVita Dialysis in Omaha, Neb., followed by positions as a medical surgical telemetry nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital in The Woodlands, Texas, and at Northside Cherokee Hospital in Canton, Ga.

During this time, Diana completed her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington, while continuing to work at Northside Cherokee Hospital as a critical care nurse. She then took a position as a critical care nurse at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica, Ga., and then held the same position at WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta. She earned her master of science degree with a certification as an adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner from the University of Alabama at Birmingham while serving as a certified PICC IV therapy nurse at Northside Cherokee Hospital.

Diana is certified in basic and advanced cardiac life support as well as vascular access. She is a member of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Diana joined Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates in 2024.
