A native of Wisconsin, Emily is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and holds bachelor’s degrees in both psychology and human development & family studies (HDFS). In addition, she also completed both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing from the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University.

During her time at the University of Wisconsin, Emily worked as a research assistant in the medicine and surgery departments and also founded the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Community (IBDc). With a special interest in IBD, she served as a volunteer camp counselor for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation’s Camp Oasis in Wisconsin for three years. In 2019, Emily was awarded the Immunology Scholarship from AbbVie, and in 2020, was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Emily previously served as a patient and family advisor at UW-Health and as a resident assistant at All Saints Assisted Living and Memory Care in Madison, Wis.

Emily joined Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates in 2022.
