United Digestive announces the expansion of its board of directors with the addition of gastroenterologist, Dr. Aja McCutchen. With the support of Frazier Healthcare Partners, Dr. McCutchen will be the fourth physician on the UD board of directors, joining Dr. Lynn Massingale, Dr. René Lerer and Dr. Steven Morris.
“We are pleased to welcome Aja as the newest member of the board,” said Mark Gilreath, chief executive officer for United Digestive. “Her extensive clinical leadership experience at both the local and national level will provide our leadership team with valuable insights as we continue our mission to better serve and create value for GI physicians.”
Dr. McCutchen is a partner-level physician with Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates, an affiliated practice of United Digestive. In addition to seeing patients in the northeastern suburbs of metro Atlanta, she currently sits on the organization’s physician executive committee and serves as chairman for the quality improvement committee.
At the national level, McCutchen also serves on the executive committee for the Digestive Health Physicians Association (DHPA) as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Chair, where she leads efforts to address racial health disparities regarding access and treatment in communities nationwide, including supporting legislation and regulations at both the state and federal levels to eliminate health inequalities.
