After completing an associate degree in nursing at the DeKalb College of Nursing (now Georgia State University), Carolyn received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville. She received her masters in nursing and family nurse practitioner studies (FNP) from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro.

During her 26-year nursing career, Carolyn has served as a staff nurse for Athens Regional Medical Center and Piedmont Newton Hospital in Covington. She also worked at East Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates as a registered nurse for nine years and was previously named “Nurse of the Year” by the Newton County Rotary Club.

Carolyn holds certifications in basic, advanced cardiac, and pediatric advanced life support.

She joined the practice as a nurse practitioner in 2017.
