Lucy is a graduate of Clemson University in South Carolina where she received a Bachelor of Science in nursing. She began her medical career in South Carolina at the Greenville Hospital System serving as a nurse technician and labor and delivery nurse. She then served as a cardiovascular nurse at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Va., before moving to Atlanta where she worked as a registered nurse in gastroenterology for Northside Hospital.

Lucy completed her Master of Science in nursing from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses Associates (SGNA). She holds certifications in basic and advanced cardiovascular life support.

Lucy joined Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates in 2016 and served seven years as an endoscopy manager before transitioning to the nurse practitioner role in 2023.
