Lucy is a graduate of Clemson University in South Carolina where she received a Bachelor of Science in nursing. She began her medical career in South Carolina at the Greenville Hospital System serving as a nurse technician and labor and delivery nurse. She then served as a cardiovascular nurse at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Va., before moving to Atlanta where she worked as a registered nurse in gastroenterology for Northside Hospital.
