Dr. Haroon is a graduate of Rawalpindi Medical College in Pakistan, where he received a combined bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery, during which time he was also selected as a Fulbright Scholar. After coming to the United States, he completed both an internship and residency in internal medicine, as well as a fellowship in gastroenterology at Boston University School of Medicine in Massachusetts. During his training at Boston University Medical Center, he was selected to the evaluation committees for their internal medicine residency program, as well as gastroenterology fellowship program.

Dr. Haroon has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, including the American Journal of Emergency Medicine, Current Opinion in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Obesity, Journal of Pakistan Medical Associationy el Journal of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan. In addition, he has regularly presented at the annual Digestive Disease Week and American College of Gastroenterology conventions. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American Gastroenterological Association, and the American College of Physicians.

In addition to general gastroenterology, Dr. Haroon also has a special clinical interest in GI motility disorders, such as irritable bowel syndrome, as well as general hepatology.

Dr. Haroon joined Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates in 2020.
