A native of Nigeria, Dr. Okoro received both her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus. During medical school, she was the recipient of the Commonwealth Foundation Merit Award for Academic Excellence, which included a surgery rotation at the Royal National Orthopedic Hospital in Stanmore, London.
Following an internship in Nigeria at Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Dr. Okoro moved to the United States and completed a residency in internal medicine at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. She completed her fellowship in gastroenterology at the Mayo School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota, and during that time received a post-doctoral certificate in clinical and translational science and served as an instructor of medicine.Leer más
