Did you know that Sunday, May 19 is World IBD Day?
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately 7 million people worldwide live with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). The European Federation of Crohn’s & Ulcerative Colitis Associations, which coordinates global activities for World IBD Day, reports that patient organizations from over 50 countries on 5 continents are participating in awareness initiatives. In previous years, as many as 140 landmarks worldwide have been illuminated in purple to mark the occasion.
This year’s Digestive Disease Week (DDW) conference – a pivotal event for gastroenterology clinicians, researchers, and industry professionals – coincides with World IBD Day. Organizers are embracing the moment by encouraging visitors to wear purple to show their support and handing out ribbons, among other promotional activities.
United Digestive will be making a strong showing at the event, providing speakers, hosting a booth where you can meet our leadership team and other key figures, and hosting a social event where you learn more about United Digestive and our efforts to advance IBD research and care.
Join us in spreading awareness, showing support for those affected, and advocating for improved care and treatments. Together, we can make a difference.
