Home / Daniel Dang, MD

Dr. Dang is a board-certified pathologist specializing in gastrointestinal and liver pathology. He earned his Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in chemistry from Baylor University, graduating magna cum laude, and then received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine. Dr. Dang completed his pathology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, serving as co-chief resident, and further specialized in gastrointestinal and liver pathology through a fellowship at the same institution.

Before joining United Digestive in 2025, Dr. Dang worked as a staff pathologist at Southcentral Pathology in Wichita, Kan., and later as a GI consultant pathologist at ProPath in Dallas. His research focuses on improving diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes in gastrointestinal pathology, with published studies on adenoma reporting, biomarkers, and gastrointestinal disease diagnosis. Dr. Dang has presented his research at national conferences, including the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP) and the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).

Throughout his career, Dr. Dang has received several prestigious awards and honors, including the L. Clarke Stout, Jr. Award for Excellence in Pathology and induction into the Phi Beta Kappa and Golden Key National Honor Societies. He is a member of the College of American Pathologists.

Why Gastroenterology?

I enjoy the diagnostic focus of pathology, and I find it rewarding to use unique microscopic features of each specimen to formulate a diagnosis that ultimately will aid in the treatment of the patient.
