I chose gastroenterology because it offers a unique combination of complex problem-solving, hands-on procedures, and the opportunity to build longitudinal, meaningful relationships with patients. It enables me to make a real impact across a wide range of conditions—from acute emergencies to chronic disease management—and to play an active role in improving patients’ health and wellbeing.
