With several years of experience as a registered nurse, Vanesa brings a special understanding of the long-term impact she can have on patients as a certified family nurse practitioner. Her interest in gastroenterology is rooted in her clinical knowledge that GI conditions often present with symptoms that affect the body as a whole, and she finds it essential to provide continuity of care and early intervention.

Vanesa has a special focus on helping patients understand their conditions through culturally appropriate education and is committed to improving their quality of life. In addition to general gastroenterology, she has a special interest in colon cancer prevention and screening, nutrition, weight loss and lifestyle, as well as women’s digestive health.

As an avid advocate for her patients, Vanesa provides compassionate, comprehensive care at Associates in Digestive Health Cape Coral.

Why Gastroenterology?

I chose gastroenterology because it reflects the body as a whole. GI conditions can affect patients from head to toe, and I view the gut as the body’s “second brain,” closely tied to physical and emotional well-being. My years as a GI nurse showed me how deeply these conditions impact daily life and reinforced the importance of education, early intervention, and continuity of care. Becoming a GI nurse practitioner allows me to expand that foundation and continue advocating for my patients in a meaningful way.
