I chose gastroenterology because it blends problem-solving, continuity of care, and meaningful patient interactions in a way that truly inspired me. GI patients often come in feeling uncomfortable, vulnerable, or unsure about what’s happening with their bodies, and I love being part of the process that brings clarity, relief, and improvement. The specialty also offers a wide range of conditions that require both thoughtful clinical reasoning and communication. I enjoy the balance of diagnostics, procedures, and patient education, and I appreciate how much we can improve someone’s quality of life through early detection, lifestyle guidance, and evidence-based treatment.
