Dr. Rao completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan and medical school at St. Matthew’s University. He completed his internal medicine residency at Henry Ford Hospital/Wayne State University in Detroit, where he was named Senior Resident of the Year. He went on to complete his gastroenterology fellowship training at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Prior to joining Digestive Care Physicians in 2023, he was in private practice in Milwaukee.

He is the co-author of numerous articles and research abstracts that have been published in peer-reviewed journals, including Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Cytopathology, Pancreas, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American Journal of Gastroenterology.

Dr. Rao is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association (AGA) and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).
