Paula obtained her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Rollins College, followed by a Master of Science in hospitality and tourism management from Florida International University in Miami. She went on to earn her Master of Medical Science in physician assistant studies from Emory University School of Medicine, where she was honored with the PA Empowerment Scholarship for her academic merit, leadership potential, and commitment to advancing diversity in healthcare.

Prior to earning her degree from Emory, Paula served as a medical assistant at Bay Pointe Dermatology in Coral Gables, Fla. She holds certifications in basic and advanced cardiac life support and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants (GAPA).

Paula joined Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates in 2024.
