Why Gastroenterology?
I chose gastroenterology because it allows me to combine critical thinking, problem-solving, and meaningful patient relationships. GI conditions can have a significant impact on a person’s quality of life, and I find it rewarding to help patients navigate complex symptoms, understand their diagnosis, and find solutions that allow them to feel better and live more fully. I also appreciate the diversity of the specialty. No two days are exactly the same, and there is always an opportunity to continue learning and growing as a provider.
