A native of Vietnam, Vanessa is a graduate of the Byrdine F. Lewis School of Nursing and Health Professions at Georgia State University in Atlanta. After receiving her nursing degree, Vanessa began her career as an ICU staff nurse and worked at both Grady Memorial Hospital and DeKalb Medical Center (now Emory Decatur Hospital). She also served as a nurse clinician/charge nurse at Emory University Hospital. Vanessa then returned to school and received her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner, graduating with high honors from the Walden University School of Nursing.
She is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and holds both basic and advanced cardiac life support certifications. In addition, Vanessa is a member of the Golden Key honor society, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and American College of Gastroenterology (ACG).
