Dr. Amer Skopic is a board-certified gastroenterologist with over 15 years of experience caring for patients with a wide range of digestive conditions. He provides comprehensive care at Gastroenterology Associates of Southwest Florida, seeing patients in both Fort Myers and Cape Coral. 

Dr. Skopic’s clinical interests include colon cancer screening, inflammatory bowel disease, abdominal pain, acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome, celiac disease, and endoscopic procedures to diagnose and manage gastrointestinal conditions. He values building long-term relationships with patients while also using advanced procedures to guide treatment decisions and improve outcomes. 

He has served in leadership roles at nationally recognized institutions including National Naval Medical Center Bethesda and Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, and most recently led the gastroenterology department at Eastern Connecticut Health Network. Dr. Skopic is also a published researcher and contributing author in major GI journals and textbooks. 

Known for his thoughtful, patient-centered care, Dr. Skopic is committed to helping patients across Southwest Florida manage both routine digestive concerns and complex gastrointestinal conditions.
