Dr. Balistreri completed his undergraduate studies at Wake Forest University and went on to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine for medical school. He completed his residency and GI fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Balistreri has a special interest in the treatment and management of liver disease, including hepatitis, fatty liver, abnormal liver enzymes and cirrhosis. Dr. Balistreri oversees the hepatitis research.
