Why Gastroenterology?

Gastroenterology is a field I truly enjoy because it brings together the best of both worlds, outpatient care and hands on procedures. I value the opportunity to build long term relationships with patients while also engaging in the technical and procedural aspects of the specialty. During my clinical and academic training, I have been fortunate to participate in several research projects, resulting in multiple published articles and presentations at national and international conferences. I am also passionate about giving back to the community and have been actively involved in outreach and volunteer efforts aimed at improving healthcare access and education both locally and internationally.

Away from work, Dr. Perez has a busy, fun-filled life with her husband, young daughter and dog. A fan of Mediterranean and Italian cuisine, she enjoys outdoor activities, visiting new places, cooking new recipes, and watching the latest series on TV.
